Shackleton-Rowett Expedition.
A vertical pair of the 5/- rose-red issue both being cancelled by the boxed “Gough Islands” expedition cachet together with a single strike of the “S-R. Antarctic Expedition” circular datestamp both in black ink.
Stamps bearing there cancellations were distributed as souvenirs to the crew of the expedition ship “Quest”. Only 40 examples of the 5/- values were supplied to the expedition and only half were to receive both handstamps.
